F.A.C.E.S

FACES’ mission is to work with parents who would like to form a group to work with their school district to provide a safe and supportive environment for the children of their school district who have food allergies and/or other allergies.

The goals are:

· Promote allergy awareness and safety

· Sponsor and facilitate education on food allergies for teachers, children, bus drivers, lunch room staff, administrators and parents.

 

These goals can be achieved by:

· Providing food allergy training for teachers and school support staff and educational materials for use throughout the school year (i.e., children’s literature, safe snack lists, alternative activities to food rewards, etc)

· Establish a PAL (Protect A Life) program

· Review food allergy safety protocols in schools (i.e., emergency practice drills, etc)

· Establish a forum to openly discuss food allergy issues with school administration
